La Jolla Dental Wellness Center was founded on a belief that has only deepened with time: that oral health and whole-body health are not separate territories. The mouth is not an island. It is a living interface — a window through which the body's deeper rhythms, its inflammation, its systemic patterns, and its resilience are constantly being expressed.
For over 30 years, we have cared for individuals and families across generations — not by chasing the latest trend, but by understanding the principles that govern how biological systems heal.
We call it biological wellness dentistry. Others might call it integrative, or holistic. We simply call it practicing medicine with honesty — treating the person, not just the presentation.
What We Believe
We believe that disease is not a fixed state. It is a dynamic position along a continuous spectrum — a shift in the body's homeostatic balance. Clinical measurements are not the disease. They are the trace of something deeper.
We believe that lasting healing requires more than removing what is broken. It requires restoring the conditions — the rhythm, the biological communication, the environmental field — that allowed health to exist in the first place. Only then can the body's own regenerative intelligence re-emerge.
We believe that each patient's healing is their own. Our role is not to install a predetermined outcome. It is to recalibrate the environment and trust the biology.
Why Fee For Service?
Insurance reimbursement is built around isolated, codable procedures. It has no framework for valuing a comprehensive, biologically integrated protocol — one in which a laser, a regenerative agent, a soft tissue procedure, and an advanced bone healing technique function together as a unified system.
To accept that structure would mean fragmenting and misrepresenting what we do. We chose a different path. Fee for service is not a financial inconvenience. It is the only model that allows us to practice with integrity — and to deliver an experience that speaks for itself.

As someone who has always struggled with anxiety at the dentist, the staff here has always put me at ease taking care of my teeth. Dr. Kim is very thorough and explains what she is doing step by step to ensure the integrity of my teeth, rather than proposing the most invasive procedure from the get-go. Crystal, the hygienist, is very meticulous during my cleanings and always offers good dental advice. Cathy, at the front desk, is extremely helpful dealing with insurance, very responsive when it comes to scheduling, and always greets you with her warm presence and a smile. I cannot recommend this dental office enough!! Another perk is that there is plenty of parking and they validate your parking ticket for you!
